Shillong, March 30 -- The central government has increased the commercial LPG allocation to all states, including Meghalaya, even as the supply of domestic LPG cylinders remains steady, an official said on Monday.

"The central government has enhanced to 70 per cent of regular quota for all states following continuous negotiations," Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Saloni Verma told reporters.

"Now that we are entitled to 70 per cent definitely the situation will get better for our tourism operators, for dhaba and restaurant owners and hotels," she said.

Verma said the central government imposed a 20 per cent cap on commercial LPG from March 11 as Middle-East tensions curbed imports.
