Kochi, Dec. 30 -- Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) on Tuesday inaugurated its extended Export Cargo Warehouse, significantly enhancing its cargo handling infrastructure and boosting the airport's annual export cargo capacity from 75,000 metric tonnes to 1.25 lakh metric tonnes.
The expanded facility is designed to ensure faster processing and efficient handling of a wide range of cargo categories.
It is equipped with two additional X-ray machines, Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) machines, a dedicated Dangerous Goods room, two Cold Rooms maintained at 2degC to 8degC, a Radioactive Cargo room, and a Valuables room, strengthening safety, security and operational efficiency.
