New Delhi, Feb. 4 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced that from 2026, all ration card holder families in the city will receive financial assistance equal to the cost of two LPG cylinders every year.
The decision was approved by the Delhi Cabinet chaired by Gupta. The assistance will be provided twice annually on the occasions of Holi and Diwali directly into the Aadhaar-linked bank account of the head of the family through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Gupta said the scheme is part of the Delhi government's targeted, transparent and accountable welfare policy, aimed at supporting families during major festivals and ensuring dignity and relief.
