Kolkata, Dec. 2 -- Hours after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserted that West Bengal had created employment for more than two crore people and reduced the state's unemployment rate by 40 per cent, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari mounted a sharp challenge to the CM's claims-infusing fresh political debate ahead of her scheduled visit to Gazole in Malda on Wednesday.

Highlighting the six new economic corridors under development, Mamata Banerjee has said that these projects are estimated to generate one lakh new jobs, with another one lakh expected from the Deucha-Pachami coal mining project.
