New Delhi, Jan. 19 -- With the government stepping up coastal security, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is reaching out to the population living along the long coastline, as these people are also the "Tat Praharis" (sentinels of the coast), and play an important role when it comes to keeping the coasts secure.

The force, which reached out to the villages along the coastline through its Coastal Cyclothon 2025, received encouraging reception and support from the local communities.

Director General CISF Praveer Ranjan has said that communities along the coast are very important for ensuring safety of the coastline, especially, the fishermen being the eyes and ears, and strengthening them is very important.
