Bhubaneswar, March 6 -- The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), a central armed police force in India, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has earned the distinction of employing the highest number of women amongst all the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
Praveer Ranjan, the Director General (DG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), briefing reporters on Thursday, said "More and more women are evincing keen interest in CISF recruitment despite the tough and rigorous nature of the job".
Citing the increase in the women's workforce, he informed that "in 2025 12.75% of the personnel recruited in all ranks were women. In 2026, the women component is proposed to be around 8-9% of total recruitment.
