Chinnaswamy stampede: Karnataka revoke suspension of top policemen
Bengaluru, July 28 -- In a major administrative decision, the Karnataka Government today revoked the suspension of two senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and two other cops who were earlier suspended in connection with the tragic Chinnaswamy stampede, which claimed 11 lives.
The revocation order was issued during the day.
The suspension of B Dayananda, IPS, and Shekar H Tekkannavar, IPS, has been officially lifted under Rule 3(7)(c) of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969. Both officers have been reinstated into service with immediate effect, though disciplinary proceedings under Rule 8 of the same rules are set to follow.
