Beijing/Johannesburg, July 17 -- Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with his South African counterpart Deputy President Paul Mashatile in Beijing today, as the two nations seek to boost bilateral ties.

Having last met in September the previous year, China and South Africa upgraded the bilateral relationship to an all-round strategic cooperative partnership in the new era.

Han Zheng said that the meeting has opened a new chapter in building a high-level community with a shared future between the two countries.
