Singapore, July 13 -- China earned its first victory at the World Aquatics Championships on Sunday, dominating Argentina 29-9 in a women's water polo Group B match.
Led by Olympic champion and new head coach Miki Oca of Spain, China took command early and never looked back.
The team raced out to a 15-5 halftime lead and maintained its offensive onslaught in the second half to seal the convincing win. Nong Sanfeng, the player of the match, was one of three Chinese players to score four goals.
Shao Yixin and Zhou Shang also netted four each. Three additional players scored hat tricks, and all 12 of China's field players contributed at least one goal.
