Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, July 30 -- Mosques across the city will now require police permission to use loudspeakers for the Azaan (call to prayer) during all daily prayers except Fajr, following a decisive meeting of mosque committees. The meeting, convened last night at Shahi Masjid after Isha prayers on July 29, involved representatives from all city mosques. Attendees discussed the ongoing issue of loudspeaker usage in light of directives issued by the Police Commissioner and reviewed relevant Supreme Court and High Court orders.
