Chennai-New Jalpaiguri (MAS-NJP) Express train derails at Jakhapura yard

Bhubaneswar, Feb. 5 -- A minor derailment involving 22611 Chennai-New Jalpaiguri (MAS-NJP) Express train occurred at 08:51 hrs on Thursday morning while the train was passing through Jakhapura Yard (JKPR), East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources said.

One AC coach and two General coaches derailed within yard limits. The train was moving at a very slow speed at the time of the incident.

There has been no loss of life or injury to passengers. Passenger train operations remain unaffected.

Affected passengers are being suitably accommodated, and the affected coaches are being detached. To ensure passenger convenience, additional coaches will be attached to the train as required,East Coast Railway(ECoR) sources said.
