Gairsain, March 11 -- The Uttarakhand Assembly erupted in chaos on Wednesday as opposition MLAs questioned the Pushkar Singh Dhami government's decision to hold a five-day budget session in Gairsain, alleging it violated parliamentary traditions.
Congress MLA Qazi Nizamuddin raised a point of order after the question-answer hour, accusing the government of attempting to "run away from its responsibility" by shortening the session. "What's the emergency that the government wants to cut short the budget session despite spending huge amounts on elaborate arrangements? If you don't explain the urgency, I return the rule book for conducting the house," Qazi said, walking into the well and handing over his copy of the rule book.
