Chandigarh, Feb. 22 -- In a surprise late-night inspection, Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi visited the municipal shelter home located opposite the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) on Saturday.
The raid, which was streamed live on social media, exposed significant administrative negligence, including a lack of basic amenities and the absence of key officials.
Accompanied only by his personal staff and without prior notification to the Municipal Corporation department, the Mayor arrived at the facility at 11 PM to review the living conditions for the families of patients from various states.
