Patna, Feb. 10 -- Bihar Legislative Council Chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh on Tuesday expelled the entire opposition from the House for the day following an uproar and heated exchanges between them and the Treasury benches over the alleged insult of former chief minister Rabri Devi.

As soon as the House assembled for the day, nearly 20 minutes later than scheduled and the Chairman resumed the proceedings of the enlisted businesses, senior RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui objected to the delay, saying in a parliamentary democracy no individual is above the system and that members could have adjusted their arrival had prior information been given.
