Hyderabad, Jan. 23 -- The Central government has released Rs 3.70 crore for arrangements and development works related to the Medaram Jatara, Asia's largest tribal festival, popularly known as the tribal Kumbh Mela.
In a press statement issued here on Friday, union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy said the funds were released through the union Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
He said the Centre had earlier taken up the 'Tribal Circuit' project under the Ministry of Tourism with an outlay of Rs 80 crore to promote tourism in and around Medaram, covering Mulugu, Laknavaram, Medaram, Tadwai, Damaravai, Mallur and Bogatha Waterfalls.
