Srinagar, Feb. 1 -- The union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been allocated Rs 43,290.29 crore in the Budget for 2026-27, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament on Sunday.
However, Opposition leaders in J&K criticised the Budget, alleging that the marginal rise barely keeps pace with inflation and is skewed towards security and administrative expenditure, with development receiving inadequate attention.
In the 2025-2026, the union Territory's budget was Rs 41,000.07 crore, which was then increased in the revised estimate to Rs 41,340 crore.
