Washington, April 23 -- Stepping up its naval blockade against Iran, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Thursday that it "directed 31 vessels to turn around or return to port as part of the US blockade against Iran". Majority of the ships forced to turn back have been confirmed to be oil tankers.
Releasing an operational update on Thursday, CENTCOM noted that maritime enforcement operations have seen some of their highest levels of cooperation yet, with most vessels strictly adhering to the US military's directives.
