Hyderabad, Oct. 25 -- A special CBI court here has convicted and sentenced T.Chandrakanth, the then Senior Manager, Corporation Bank, Banjara Hills Branch, in the city to suffer two years rigorous imprisonment (RI) along with a fine of Rs. 20.000 in a bank fraud case of Rs, 4.9 crore.
The court also convicted and sentenced other accused to one year RI and imposed a total fine of Rs. 55,000 on them in the same case, a release issued by CBI said here today.
In 2004, the CBI registered a case against T.Chandrakanth, and 16 others for allegedly cheating Corporation Bank in the matter of sanction and disbursement of housing loans aggregating to the tune of Rs.4.9 crores on the basis of false and fictitious documents.
