New Delhi, April 8 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today said it has arrested a Superintendent and an Inspector of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in a bribery case.
The CBI registered the case on Tuesday against Yellamilli Rinkesh, Superintendent, GST, Ranipet, and Ramkesh Meena, Inspector, GST, Ranipet.
The First Information Report was lodged based on a complaint alleging that the accused Superintendent demanded an undue advantage of Rs 30,000 from the complainant for facilitating the clearance of GST registration.
After negotiations, the accused Superintendent agreed to accept a bribe of Rs 15,000. It was further alleged that he directed the complainant to deliver the bribe on Tuesday.
