Chennai, April 8 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested a Superintendent (SP) and Inspector ofGoods and Services Tax (GST) in Ranipet district of Tamil Nadu in a Rs 15,000 bribery case.
Those arrested were SP Yellamilli Rinkesh and Inspector Ramkesh Meena, a CBI statement said this evening.
The CBI registered the instant case on Tuesday against the accused SP, Ranipet Range, based on a complaint. It was alleged that the SP demanded an undue advantage of Rs.30,000 from the complainant for facilitating the clearance of GST registration.
After negotiations, the SP agreed to accept a bribe of Rs.15,000 from the complainant and also directed the complainant to deliver the amount on Tuesday. The CBI laid a trap on a...
