New Delhi, April 1 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two public servants for accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from a complainant in a bribery case.
The arrested individuals include Vinay Kumar, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (RPFC), and Amin Sofi, Senior Security Assistant of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Batmaloo, Kashmir Region, Srinagar.
The CBI registered the case on Tuesday against Vinay Kumar and Amin Sofi. It was alleged that the RPFC demanded a bribe of Rs. 1,50,000 from the complainant to avoid taking adverse action and imposing a hefty penalty on the complainant's school.
