New Delhi, Feb. 16 -- In a move aimed at reducing pollution in Delhi linked to stubble burning, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has ordered rent-free crop residue management (CRM) machines for small and marginal farmers in neighbouring northern states sharing the capital's airshed.
The directions were issued in an official order dated February 13, which mandated the availability of rent-free CRMs for small and marginal farmers of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh through CHCs.
CAQM encouraged the use of a mobile app, particularly post-peak harvesting, to manage the best use and timely availability of the CRM machines for the farmers.
