Kolkata, April 16 -- The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday received multiple petitions seeking among others an NIA probe into the Murshidabad anti-Waqf Amendment violence, setting up relief camps for the affected families and another from opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari for permission to visit violence-hit Dhulian, court sources said.
An application was filed at the single-judge bench of Justice Tirthankar Ghosh seeking an National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the violence last week, including the death of three persons, that of a father and his son who were lynched, and another teenaged boy who was killed, and into hundreds of people fleeing Murshidabad by crossing the Ganga river and have taken shelter in a school in Malda dis...
