Patna, Aug. 5 -- Bihar cabinet today approved a proposal for setting up a 2400 MW (three units
of 800 MW each) thermal power plant at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur.
After the cabinet meeting held here during the day, the Cabinet Additional Chief Secretary
S Siddharth told news persons here that the plant would be set up through a competitive
tariff based bidding process.
Earlier, Bihar State Power Generation Company Pvt Ltd (BSPGCL) was given the land for
setting up a solar power plant at Pirpainti .
The cabinet also gave its nod to run inter-state bus service on a PPP mode in order to deal
with the rush of passengers between Durga puja, Chhatth and during Holi, Siddharth said.
