Hyderabad, April 28 -- Senior IPS officer C V Anand will assume charge as the Director General of Police (Head of Police Force), Telangana, from May 1, 2026, following his appointment by the State government.
A 1991-batch IPS officer, Anand brings over three decades of experience across key policing and administrative roles. He most recently served as Special Chief Secretary, Home Department.
Born in Hyderabad, Anand had an accomplished academic and sporting background, representing Hyderabad in Under-19 cricket before entering the civil services at a young age.
During his career, he served extensively in naxal-affected districts and later held important positions, including Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad and Cyberabad.
