Mumbai, March 19 -- The long-pending auction of ancestral agricultural lands linked to fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in Ratnagiri district has finally found a buyer, with a Mumbai-based bidder placing the highest bids for all four parcels during a central government auction.
The auction was conducted on March 5, under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act (SAFEMA), marking a significant step in disposing of properties associated with the Kasakar family. Officials described the development as a key move in the process of liquidating assets connected to the underworld network.
