Bulandshahr, Aug. 1 -- The Court of Additional District Judge (12) Gopal Ji today delivered its verdict in the high-profile 2018 Syana violence case, sentencing five individuals, Prashant Nat, David, Joni, Rahul and Lokendra, to life imprisonment for the murder of Inspector Subodh Kumar.

The court also imposed a cash fine of Rs 20,000 on each of them. Additionally, 33 others were sentenced to seven years in prison and a cash fine of Rs 2,000, for their involvement in rioting, arson, and attempted murder.

According to Government counsel, Yashpal Raghav, eighty percent of the cash fine would go to the widow of the inspector Subodh, killed during the violence.
