Jammu, Feb. 6 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday proposed to fast-track the recruitment process for 23,800 additional posts to fill up vacancies in a strictly time-bound manner.

"I propose to fast-track the recruitment process for 23,800 additional posts including 2,800 gazetted, 14,000 non-gazetted and 7,000 Class-IV posts, so that these vacancies are filled in a strictly time-bound manner," the Chief Minister said while presenting his second budget of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir in the Legislative Assembly.

In addition, he said 910 compassionate appointments have been provided in 2025, ensuring families who have lost their sole breadwinners can live with dignity, security and hope.
