Budget Session: Both Houses to take up Motion of Thanks on President Murmu's address

New Delhi, Feb. 2 -- : Both Houses of Parliament will take up on Monday the Motion of Thanks on President Droupadi Murmu's address, following the presentation of the union Budget 2026-27 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1.

In the Lok Sabha, union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will move the motion, seconded by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, while in the Rajya Sabha, BJP MP C Sadanandan Master will move it, seconded by Medha Vishram Kulkarni. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to reply on February 4, while Finance Minister Sitharaman will respond on February 11.

The Budget Session, which commenced on January 28 with the President's address to a joint sitting, will span 30 sittings over 65 days, concluding on April 2. The sessi...
