New Delhi, Sept. 22 -- In a landmark cultural and spiritual outreach, the sacred relics of Lord Buddha, housed at the National Museum here, will be taken to Kalmykia, the only Buddhist-majority republic in Europe, according to a statement from the Culture Ministry here.

The initiative is part of the 3rd International Buddhist Forum, to be held in Elista, the capital of Kalmykia, from September 24-28, 2025.

The exposition is being organised jointly by the Ministry of Culture, the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), the National Museum, and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), said the statement.
