Chandigarh, Jan. 30 -- In a major counter-infiltration operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot dead a Pakistani intruder along the International Border (IB) in the Dera Baba Nanak sector early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred when the individual attempted to breach the border fence and enter Indian territory.
According to official reports, BSF troops on high alert noticed suspicious movement coming from the Pakistani side. The intruder managed to cross the fencing and continued to advance into the Indian side despite repeated warnings and challenges by the border guards.
