Hyderabad, Feb. 28 -- BRS senior leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail on Friday demanded that the Congress government allocate Rs 4,000 crore for minority welfare in the upcoming budget, as promised.
In a statement here, Sohail urged the government to pass a bill introducing the Minorities Sub-Plan in the forthcoming budget session and to amend 'The Telangana State Minorities Commission Act, 1998' to make it a permanent body.
The Congress government must honour its election commitments or face the consequences in the upcoming elections, he cautioned.
He strongly condemned the state government for completely neglecting the welfare of minorities while preparing the State's annual budget for 2025-26.
