Hyderabad, Jan. 16 -- Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) senior leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail on Friday condemned the incident of desecration and rioting reported from Purana Pul and expressed concern over what he described as a rise in communal disturbances in Telangana.

In a statement, he alleged that the incident once again exposed the failure of the Congress government to maintain law and order and ensure communal harmony in the State.

The incident which occurred on Wednesday night, saw unidentified miscreants entering the Puranapool Darwaza Mysamma Temple and partially damaged a flexi banner and a POP (Plaster of Paris) idol located in the temple veranda.
