Bhopal, Feb. 1 -- In a breach in the Bargi dam, one of the major dams of Madhya Pradesh in Jabalpur district, the right bank canal of the dam near Sagda-Jhapni village breached today, causing inundation in several nearby agricultural fields.
As per officials, no loss of life has been reported.
The structure is the first reservoir built downstream on the Narmada river.
According to Jabalpur Collector Raghvendra Singh, the breach occurred sometime around 2.15 pm.
The Collector assured that there has been no loss of human life, and the breach would be repaired soon.
The Collector also informed that he has ordered an immediate survey of the crop loss. He reiterated that the damage caused is minimal.
