Srinagar, Sept. 4 -- A breach in the Jhelum river embankment on Srinagar outskirts had triggered fresh fears of flooding in Srinagar's low-lying areas, prompting authorities to issue precautionary evacuation advisories to seven low-lying areas.

The administration today morning urged people of Lasjan, Soiteng, Nowgam, Vyethpora, Gopalpora, Padshibagh, Mehjoor Nagar to evacuate to safer places amid the reported breach at Shalina Budgam.
