Brasilia, April 25 -- The health condition of Brazil's former President Jair Bolsonaro is deteriorating during his recovery from an intestinal surgery less than two weeks ago with an increase in blood pressure, according to a medical bulletin released on Thursday.
The DF Star Hospital in Brasilia said in the bulletin that Bolsonaro's liver laboratory tests also showed worsening readings.
Bolsonaro underwent a 12-hour operation on April 13 intended to remove an intestinal obstruction and reconstruct the intestinal wall.
It was the sixth surgery performed on the former president since he was stabbed in the abdomen during his 2018 election campaign. Bolsonaro served as Brazil's president from 2019 to the end of 2022.
