Hyderabad, April 7 -- Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday directed officials to strengthen enforcement to increase departmental revenue while ensuring that the public does not face inconvenience.

At a state-level review meeting held at the Secretariat, Ponnam stressed the need to balance strict enforcement with citizen-friendly services.

He noted that the department collected Rs 7,097.38 crore in 2025-26 compared to Rs 6,910.90 crore in 2024-25, adding that revenue had seen some impact due to the EV policy.

He advised officials to offset this through stronger enforcement and by identifying new revenue sources.
