Sanaa, Jan. 22 -- A targeted attack on a convoy belonging to a group allied with Yemen's Saudi-backed government has killed five people and wounded three others, according to Yemeni authorities.
The attack, which occurred on Wednesday, targeted a convoy carrying Hamdi Shukri, a commander in the pro-government Giants Brigades. Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council confirmed the details in a statement carried by state-run media.
The Yemeni government also announced on Wednesday that a bomb attack on a Southern Giants Brigades convoy in Aden, the country's temporary capital, had resulted in five fatalities and three injuries.
