Chandigarh, Sept. 16 -- Bollywood actor and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut did not appear before a Bathinda court today in connection with a defamation case filed against her.

The court has now issued orders to serve a fresh summons to Ranaut through the Bathinda Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

The case stems from a complaint lodged by Mahinder Kaur, a resident of Bahadurgarh Jandian village in Bathinda, who alleged that Ranaut posted defamatory remarks on social media during the period when the central government introduced contentious agricultural laws.
