Gorakhpur, April 3 -- Bodies of four teenagers who drowned in the Rapti River near Mirzapur Ghat under the Khorabar police station area in Gorakhpur have been recovered after an extensive search operation, officials said on Friday.
The victims were identified as Aman alias Biru Rajbhar (15), Vivek Nishad (15), Gagan Paswan (15) and Aniket Yadav (13). The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when five boys had gone to the river on bicycles to bathe near a pontoon bridge.
During the outing, four of them ventured into river and drowned, while one boy, Rajkaran alias Timepass, managed to escape.
