Chandigarh, Jan. 14 -- Police are continuing efforts to identify the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a young gig worker, even as complications have emerged over the ownership of the luxury vehicle allegedly used in the crash.
Investigators said the BMW car suspected to be involved in the incident has been traced, but its driver remains unidentified due to multiple ownership changes shortly before the accident. Preliminary verification revealed that the vehicle was sold more than once in recent days, and the latest buyer did not complete the mandatory transfer of registration.
