Mumbai, Jan. 13 -- Mumbai is set to introduce Printing Auxiliary Display Units for the first time during the upcoming elections to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, with the civic administration describing the move as a technical safeguard during the vote-counting process.

The BMC has received 140 PADU machines developed by Bharat Electronics Limited at its Bengaluru facility. According to the civic administration, the units are intended to function as a backup mechanism in the event of technical issues while connecting voting units with the control unit during counting.
