Fatehpur, March 1 -- A 45-year-old Booth Level Officer (BLO) and Shiksha Mitra allegedly died by suicide inside a primary school classroom after reportedly being denied leave for his daughter's upcoming wedding, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Akhilesh Kumar Savita, a resident of Aliyabad village in the Kotwali area of Fatehpur district, was assigned duty under the SIR-2026 program.
According to reports, he had been distressed over not receiving leave despite making repeated visits to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and the Block Education Officer (BEO).
