Kozhikode, March 7 -- Visually impaired aspirant Jaseela Jannath P (30) from Vadakara in Kozhikode district has secured the 397th rank in the Civil Services Examination conducted by the union Public Service Commission (UPSC), demonstrating that determination and perseverance can overcome significant challenges.

Jaseela achieved the feat in her fourth attempt, transforming her personal struggles into an inspiration for many differently-abled aspirants across the country. She chose Sociology as her optional subject, reflecting her strong interest in social issues and community development.

She holds a Master's degree in Social Work with a specialisation in Women-Centred Practice from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.
