Mumbai, May 5 -- The BJP strongly condemned Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP and chief Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut on Tuesday after he lashed out against the Modi government for conducting what he called "Pakistan" style elections in India.
"The defeat of the opposition in West Bengal is a wake up call for democracy in India. The ruling party wants to ensure that there are no opposition parties. If this is the case, then opposition parties should stop contesting elections. Such elections are held in Pakistan and Russia. I have seen results announced in Azerbaijan even before the elections. Democracy is on the same path in India as well," Sanjay Raut said.
