Mysuru, Jan. 29 -- The BJP on Thursday demanded the removal of the Congress government in Karnataka, accusing it of violating Supreme Court guidelines by publishing advertisements critical of the VB-G RAM G Act using public funds.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP spokesperson MG Mahesh said advertisements issued by the State Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj were politically partisan in nature and amounted to misuse of taxpayers' money.

He termed it a "fit case" for invoking Article 356 of the Constitution, which could lead to the imposition of President's Rule in the state.
