Chandigarh, May 7 -- The political climate in Punjab escalated on Thursday as BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh issued a defamation notice to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over his recent remarks made during the 'Shukrana Yatra' in Jalandhar.
Chugh objected to the Chief Minister's alleged statement linking the Bharatiya Janata Party to recent low-intensity explosions in the state, calling it "baseless" .
Chugh accused the Chief Minister of compromising the dignity of his office by making "baseless and evidence-free" allegations, further charging him with spreading misinformation and attempting to incite public unrest.
