Kolkata, March 5 -- Five candidates, including four from the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) and one from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), submitted their nominations for the Rajya Sabha from West Bengal at the state Assembly on Thursday.
The TMC nominees, Babul Supriyo, Koel Mallick, Rajeev Kumar, and Menaka Guruswamy, submitted their papers in the afternoon in the presence of several senior ministers of the ruling party. BJP candidate Rahul Sinha also filed his nomination the same day.
After completing the formalities, the TMC candidates briefly interacted with the media on the Assembly premises.
