Mumbai, Dec. 17 -- Maharashtra Congress President Harsh Vardhan Sapkal on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following a court verdict in the National Herald case, alleging that it had exposed what he described as the BJP's "politics of lies".
Addressing a press conference at Tilak Bhawan, Sapkal claimed that a false case had been fabricated to defame Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that central agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate, were misused to harass opposition leaders and suppress dissent. Demanding accountability, Sapkal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP should issue a public apology to the Gandhi family.
