Lucknow, March 19 -- BJP MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh has expressed a strong reaction to the recent statement made by the SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav regarding ''Maa Ganga'' (Mother Ganga).
He stated, "Maa Ganga is the soul of India and in the Sanatan tradition, her status is not merely that of a river, but rather that of a liberator and a life-sustaining force.""To make such sacred subjects a part of political rhetoric is completely unacceptable. This constitutes a direct assault on the faith of millions of Hindus and on Sanatan values-an act that is both deeply unfortunate and insensitive," he told reporters here on Thursday.
